How does the Invisalign process work?

You will be required to wear a set of aligners for at least 21 hours a day 2 weeks at a time. You can take your aligners out when eating, brushing or flossing; however, you will have to wear them for the rest of the time. This is because the aligners have to stay in contact with your teeth for a minimum amount of time to make them effective.

Depending on the severity of your misalignment, the number of aligners that you will have to wear will differ, but overall treatment time will last for about a year. Rest assured, each set of aligners gradually moves your teeth more into alignment to create an attractive symmetrical smile. During your treatment, you will have to visit our office periodically to receive new aligners and to allow us to monitor your progress.

How are the aligners made?

To create your custom-made aligners, we will create impressions of your teeth during your checkup. This information will be sent to a dental lab which will create your aligners. Once your aligners are ready, you will return to our office to pick them up. We will give you detailed instructions to care for your aligners so you can get the most of your treatment.
