Wisdom Teeth Removal in Trenton, Ontario
Wisdom teeth can cause infection, crowding, or decay in your mouth and are not integral to the structure of your mouth.
We may suggest that you have them removed if we believe they pose a potential risk to your oral health. Removal is safe, painless, and effective.
Key Benefits:
- Simple and common procedure
- Prevent infection/decay
- Prevent crowding
Some reasons for removal include:
An impacted tooth: The tooth cannot break through the gums correctly because the jawbone is not big enough to facilitate the tooth
A partially erupted tooth: The tooth has only partially broken through the gum and cannot form a proper seal against the gums, which may result in infection
An angled tooth: The tooth erupts at an angle creating risk to surrounding teeth and possible oral pain

Additional Information
Wisdom teeth can be found at the very back of your upper and low jaw and often appear when the patient is in their late teens to early 20s. Wisdom teeth can cause problems for nearby teeth including pain, inflammation, and even infection. These teeth can also cause pain and swelling of your gum tissues and cysts to develop.
A wisdom tooth can become impacted when it fails to erupt from the jaw and has to be removed. Depending on your case, you may have 1 to 4 wisdom teeth; however, in rare circumstances, some people may not have wisdom teeth appear or may have more than four.
It’s also important to note that if the wisdom tooth is not causing any problems and the mouth has enough room to accommodate it, it doesn’t have to be removed. During your examination, your dentist will perform a comprehensive examination, including digital X-rays, of your oral tissues to determine if a tooth has to be removed. You should provide your complete medical and dental history to your dentist as well as any medications that you’re taking.
During your procedure, you will be given an anesthesia so that you will remain completely comfortable and that you won’t feel anything. Dr. Lingamaneni, Dr. Patel, and Dr. KG and the dental team have a wealth of experience performing this type of surgery so you can feel confident that you’re in good hands. Contact Trinity Family Dental in Trenton to speak with us today. Our practice has been open for over 25 years and offers free wifi, and Netflix for your enjoyment.
The extraction may be done under local anesthetic but for more complicated extractions you may be referred to an oral surgeon. Recovery is typically quite fast, usually taking two or three days.
